Fish that were coming up on them I could see them, they ranged from 7-10lbs. Then had some bites on a hudd but didn’t swing. Game day, started off with topwater and nothing, threw the hudd throughout the day with about 3 taps. I saw fish under my topwater baits but they would not commit. Finally threw a jig and lost a good one (4-5lb range) in a tree then caught another that was small. Remember always weigh your fish. Took 9th out of some of the top big bait fisherman. Fun tourney. Can’t wait for the Delta event in August.

Most of my fish are coming on a Berserk shaky head with a 6 inch worm either let it sit or work it very slowly from the shoreline to about 40ft. The other bait that has been consistant for me is a brown and purple or a brown jig, with a brown single or double tail trailer. There are some bait balls that you can either dropshot or I have been spooning up my fish out of the balls in the creeks. There are some fish moving shallow with some of these warm days and mostly males. There are a lot of bass spitting up craws too.

I threw a purple hornet and an orange craw Berserk jig and had about 10+lbs. Topwater got me a 4+spot and a 5+largemouth. I had a double hook up some spots around 2lbs a piece. I did miss about 4 fish on topwater that would have went 3-4lbs. Lost one big girl that was around 10+lbs on a hudd close to the boat. My best limit was around 15lbs. Had fun.

After throwing some swimbaits around the rogers arm in the trees with only one bump we started jumping around the lower end to Green Bay. My dad had one on a berserk shaky head with a hula grub in about 20ft. I finally found the fish in about 40ft give or take on purple hornet jigs. These bass were picking it up and all you would feel is pressure. Carlos managed to get one on a shaky head with a hula grub that was about 3-4lbs and lost a few but caught a few on the Don Pedro Berserk shad spinnerbait in the middle of the trees. Water temp stayed about 63 all day. Nothing on wakebaits, spooks, spoons, missed 2 fish on a swimbait, and nothing crankin.

10/27/2008 Started out at McClure point throwing topwater, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits looking for a reaction bite. Had one blow up on a Vixen and then caught one about 1.75 pounds on the Vixen half way back to the boat. Caught one on a jig on a rocky point. Started throwing the new Berserk Baits Perfect Shad spinnerbait on a sloping wall and had a few hits and then caught one. Moved around the lake throwing darthead worms and dropshot and picked up one or more fish at every stop. Mostly fished rocky points. We were up in the canyon when the wind picked up and started throwing the Perfect Shad spinnerbait again. Had a fish just explode on it, came out of the water twice – 2.5 to 3 pound spot, nice fish! Had the fish at the side of boat, reaching for my camera and the fish shook it’s head and snapped my line and swam off with my one and only spinnerbait. Went back to dartheading and we caught several fish. Ended the day with about 15 to 20 fish in the boat with about a 7.5 pound limit

Carlos and I had a horrible pre-fish. We had one day and an hour the day before pre-fishing, we found nothing. We decided to fish water that we didn’t pre fish and fished slower. Carlos put our first keeper in the boat at 8am on a worm, then I got our next one at 9:30am on a Berserk purple hornet lake jig. We missed a few and didn’t get our next keeper until about 1:30 and I caught a 6+, 4+, and my last one at 3pm was a 7.3lber all on a purple hornet jig. For the first day we had 22.5lbs for 4th place. All of these fish came out of one small area about the size of a pickup. The next day we went to that same spot and found a boat on it and they stayed there all day, so we had to find all new water. We went frog fishin. I had one on a frog that would go 7-9lbs and lost it, threw right back in there with a white frog and got a 4+ on the very next cast in the same spot. We ended up weighing 4 fish for 11lbs, we should of had 18-20lbs. Oh well thats fishin.
